  • Ben Sheard River Report For 13-Jun-2012

The weather is has been pretty cooperative lately, giving us a little more water to fill the reserviors yesterday along with some good fishing if the rain didn't scare you away. The big fish were up from mid-day on feeding on the BWO's, Sulphurs and Isonychia. The water levels and temps are staying pretty good for this time of year, keeping the Main D and lower East alive for a little longer. The upper West at Stilesville is flowing at 519 cfs this morning at 46 degrees, then down at Hale Eddy the flow is 664 cfs with a temp of 52 degrees. The all-day rain we had yesterday was a good, spread out rain that didn't really muddy up the river but you may see some stain if you're fishing close to where a tributary runs in. The upper East at Harvard is flowing at 270 cfs with at little warmer temp of 55 this morning, then after the Beaverkill the flow is 1870 and 60 degrees due to the Beaverkill pumping in 1340 cfs. The main Delaware at Lordville is 2300 cfs with a great temp of 61 to start the day. Well, if you fished in the rain yesterday you probably had one hell of a good day with not a lot of competition to fish your favorite spot. We've had good BWO's in 16-24 throughout the system on cloudy days, the bigger 16 Cornutas will sometimes show up on the brighter days. The Sulphurs in 16 and 18 have been really consitent, starting around 12 or so up around Deposit and between 2-4pm lower down depeding on the weather. The Isonychia in #10 will also be seen throughout the system starting in the early afternoon. It looks like the next few days temps will be in the lower 70's with some cloud cover. Lotsa' Luck
